Disassembled and cleaned

This is a Ref. 5500 Air King reworked into an Explorer. Normally, reworked dials are said to be slightly less valuable, but this Ref. 5500 Explorer is very popular and commands a high retail price.

Assemble

The movement is Cal.1520, a non-date 15 series. There is no rust and almost no wear. Replace the mainspring and assemble.

Back

This is the dial side. It is in good condition. Since it is a non-date watch, the structure is simple.

Install the dial and hands

The dial and hands are attached before the automatic winding unit is installed. There are good and bad redoes, but this is a good redo with little discomfort.

Casing

The automatic winding unit is also installed and placed in the case.

We are currently conducting a running test and making adjustments. Although not shown in the photo, the bracelet is a genuine rivet bracelet. The case size is slightly smaller than that of a regular Explorer.

Once the adjustments are complete, we will put it up in stores and on our online shop. The selling price is expected to be around 500,000 yen.
