Repair contents: Overhaul of case and light polishing of windshield
Repair cost: Overhaul: 27,500 yen + parts: 16,500 yen Total: 44,000 yen (reference price)
I disassembled it and cleaned it.
This is an Omega Seamaster manufactured in the 1970s. The copper-colored movement is a characteristic of vintage Omegas and is called an old caliber. When it comes to old calibers, new parts are very rare, and even if there are, they are expensive and have to be ordered from overseas. For this reason, used parts are sometimes used for replacement.
I even assembled the time mechanism.
I think the most common movement for old Seamasters is the 565, but this is a rare model with the 571. The repair cost is a reference price because we plan to maintain it and put it on sale in the store as a reused product. The movement is in good condition considering its age.
This is the back side.
It has a simple structure because it is a non-date watch. It is also in good condition with no rust.
Install the dial and hands.
The Omega and Seamaster letters also have a retro feel. The case is boys' size, so the dial is small and about the same size as the movement.
I have it cased.
The replacement part is a reversing wheel for automatic winding. It is also called a clutch gear or a changeover wheel, and is a part that combines two gears to wind an automatic watch in both directions. This part is prone to malfunction in this vintage Omega. Malfunctions also occur in other manufacturers' movements, such as Zenith's El Primero (Cal. 400) and Longines' Ultrachron. The part replaced this time is a stock item previously ordered from overseas, so the current price will be different.
We hope this information will be helpful to you. We will continue to introduce repairs in the future.
