This is a 1970s diver's chronograph.

I did quite a bit of research on the SWISS EMPEROR brand, but I couldn't find any conclusive sources that confirmed it, so the brand itself remained a mystery to me.

One collector has suggested that it may be one of the brands of H Samuel, a high-end jewellery chain still in existence in the UK, but as there is no documentation to support this, it is difficult to say for sure.

This is possible because during this time high-end jewellery stores created their own original brands and produced a variety of watches.

Another characteristic of luxury jewelry brands is that they offer a wide range of high-quality watches, just like fellow luxury jewelry store Baylor.

Design features include the cushion case and gold counters that stand out against the black dial.

The dial has a tachymeter printed on the outer edge and a telemeter printed inside.

It also has a waterproof screw-back case, a rotating bezel and a diver's watch.

The movement is Valjoux 7733, and the case and back are engraved with SWISS MADE, so there's no doubt that it's Swiss made.

The Valjoux 7733 is an improved version of the Venus 188.

It was in the 1960s that Valjoux acquired Venus, and they used the technology that Venus had to create this movement.
