Breitling Navitimer 806
It's a vintage Navitimer. Caliber is Venus 178. There are no particular problems.
Disassembled
The star mark is the Venus mark. 178 is a large chronograph movement and a popular caliber. I disassembled and cleaned it, but I think it is in good condition with no rust.
Mainspring replacement
The mainspring was about to break, so we replaced it. This is the last one in stock, and if it is needed for repairs in the future, we will have to order it from overseas. If it is a vintage chronograph such as Venus or Valjoux, it is still possible to obtain it, regardless of the price. They are almost not available in Japan.
Assemble
The gear being held down in the photo is the driving wheel, which becomes the second hand. This gear meshes with the chronograph runner to power the chronograph.
Assemble
Considering its age, it is in pretty good condition. A pillar wheel (or column wheel) is used to start and stop the chronograph.
Surface assembled
The balance wheel is large and it is an impressive movement.
The back side was also assembled.
This is the dial side. The hour counter is at the 6 o'clock position. This gear is powered directly by the mainspring.
Casing
The 41mm case size was large for its time, but it feels just right now. It has a design that is typical of a pilot's watch.
We will conduct a running test and put it on the shelves. I think the selling price will be around 450,000 to 500,000 yen. The movement is in good condition and I recommend it.
