Year-end and New Year opening hours and upcoming arrivals? Seiko Divers

Hello everyone! This is No from Matsuno Watch Shop.

Wow, it's the end of the year. I've been updating my blog a lot and just updating my Instagram. Instagram is easy.

All you have to do is select the photos one by one and upload them. The text is also very concise. Of course it's going to be popular. You can link it to your blog. Hahaha, that's easy.

This time, I'm reluctantly updating the blog to let you know about our business hours for the New Year holidays. We will be open until the 29th of the year, and will open from the 4th of the new year.

The overhaul is already scheduled to be completed at the end of January. Is that a bit long? I see. That's because we will be closed from the 17th to the 21st, so it will be a bit longer. Sorry.

I'm going to Cambodia, and Matsu is going to the hospital. Maybe a proctologist? Or an ENT? No, no, the basics are internal medicine.

Well, it doesn't really matter. If I don't do my best, the store will be closed during the New Year holidays, but I'll be working at full capacity inside. I don't want to have to do repairs on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. So I'll do my best.

There's not much time left this year, but I say "Fight!" Do people still say "Fight" these days? Hey, Saku-chan.

Anyway, I've been finding time to work on some reused items that I had been neglecting for quite some time.

This time it's the Seiko Second Diver. It may become a product someday. Well, it's better if it doesn't.

Seiko Second Diver 6105-8110

This is true for Rolex, Omega, and so on, but these days there are many models that are priced at a surprising amount when you check the market price, and this diver is no exception.

Seiko divers are expensive, but their chronographs are also insanely expensive. This is true in Japan, but overseas they are even more expensive. I wonder why. I'm shocked.

Maybe it was a good thing I let him sleep this time. I don't really know though.

It's finally time for maintenance, so I'm having it overhauled.

Disassemble

The design is diver, but the interior is a general 3-piece movement. The only difference is whether it has a hack or not. This movement does not have a hack. It's not a big change.

Disassemble, clean and then reassemble

Can you see that the edge of the barrel (the gear that holds the mainspring) is slightly worn? The color has changed a little. As it is an old watch, the hole that holds the barrel will become wider over time.

As the friction spreads, the car itself starts to rattle and the edges may come into slight contact. If the rattle is too severe, it may cause the car to stop.

Hole tightening

Fill the hole with a countersunk chisel. If you fill it too much, it will obviously not turn, so fill it moderately. I remember reading in an old document that it's best to fill it just enough so that it feels a little tight, and then open it up.

I think it was a book about how to use a chisel. There aren't many new books on watchmaking techniques, and they're all old documents, and they're expensive. Is there a demand for them? The book I bought recently, or rather a book of straw paper, cost 5,000 yen.

Technique is important. It seems that Mr. Hato, who is constantly posting his techniques on the internet, is very important. Do you know that? I always learn something from you, thank you!

Currently under construction

Many old Seiko watches have been used heavily and roughly repaired, but I think this one is in relatively good condition. There were some unclear repair marks on the base plate, but it was still okay considering its age.

The automatic movement is also included and the watch is complete.

We will be doing a running test of the interior from now on. It will be difficult to achieve chronometer-level precision, but I want it to be practical enough that it will not cause any problems. The exterior also needs to be cleaned up.

Glass Replacement

Original glass from those days is difficult to obtain, and even if it is available, it is expensive. However, for some reason, compatible glass is available. I don't know who makes it or where it is made, but the unique glass shape of the diver is comparable to the compatible product.

We don't use laser marks like some other manufacturers. We think that the compatible glass is better than the scratched genuine glass. It's better to have clean glass and crystal. My watch has a lot of scratches on the crystal.

I tried assembling it.

Doesn't it look good with a NATO? Don't say this combination is common. Use natural light! A watchmaker in Tokyo told me, so I placed it on the floor of the entrance where sunlight comes in and took the photo. With my cell phone.

A watchmaker in Tokyo also told me that the one with the crown guard is the Naoki Uemura model. He knows everything. Hahaha.

Aren't these straps also good?

The direct sunlight was too strong and it looks a bit bland, but I won't bother to edit it. When I take a photo, I think it's better to have clean glass. It has a transparent look. There is a missing luminous point, but I think it's better as it is. The scratches on the bezel look good too.

...Well, I don't remember the purchase price, so the selling price is undecided. ...What kind of company is this? It's like a super bowl. Well, there is a running test, so it will take some time to get it to a reasonable level, so let's decide on the price by then. Let's do that.

I haven't updated the online shop for so long that my contract has expired (lol). I'll let you know when I have a new one. ...Super wind-based. Wind-based~♪ Wind-based~♪ Oh, do you know this song?

There are many events at the end of the year, but as a single person, I don't have any plans. Yes. The thing I'm most concerned about right now is what Christmas present I should give to my nephew.

I know he likes dinosaurs, but I wonder if he's still interested in them, if I give him something too extravagant, will my younger brother and his wife get angry, or maybe a game? Oh, maybe a mahjong set would be better? Of course not.

I don't want my nephew to dislike me, and I don't want my younger brother and his wife to glare at me. If you're single, you don't know anything about that. I'll try my best to curry favor with them during the New Year holidays. So that I won't be dumped.

Everyone, please be careful not to catch a cold. If you can, please follow me on Instagram. Hahaha.

See you next time, this was Noda. Hoo hoo hoo. Santa
